Everything you need to enjoy AR experiences on your smartphone or tablet.
To view 3D models and use augmented reality (AR) smoothly, your device must meet specific technical requirements. Below you’ll find an overview of what’s needed on iOS/iPadOS and Android devices.
Requirements for iOS and iPadOS
Your device must support AR and run iOS or iPadOS 11 or later. This requires an Apple device equipped with an A9 chip or newer. You can find more details on Apple’s AR support page.
Compatible iPhone models
- iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (1st generation), and all newer iPhone models up to the latest generation.
Compatible iPad models
- iPad Pro (all generations), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (5th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later).
Some newer devices also include LiDAR scanners, which can significantly improve tracking accuracy and overall AR quality.
Requirements for Android devices
On Android, AR experiences are delivered via Google Scene Viewer. To use it, your device must meet the following requirements:
- An ARCore-supported device running Android 7.0 (Nougat, API level 24) or later.
- An up-to-date version of Google Play Services for AR installed on the device.
