Here you will learn how to create an API key in the rooom settings.
API keys are a way to grant third-party tools or applications limited access to specific features of the rooom developer API. They are unique identifiers used to authenticate and authorize access to an API, serving as a secure method to control who can use certain features.
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an API Key
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Select the "Settings" option from the dropdown menu.
- Go to "Integrations" in the settings.
- Click on "New API Key".
- Give the API key a name that describes its purpose.
- Select a validity period for the API key. After this period, the API key will expire and can no longer be used.
- Click "Create".
- The newly created API key will be displayed to you.
- Copy this key and paste it into the appropriate field in the external application or software.
Copying the API Key Later
You can also copy your API key at any time later using the copy icon in front of the API key name to your clipboard.
API Key Management
You can manage your API keys in the rooom settings. To delete an API key and revoke the granted permission, click on "Remove" next to the corresponding key.
