In the Space Editor, you can use videos with a blue or green screen and make them transparent with the Chromakey function.
Click the Chromakey Icon and Open the Menu
To use the Chromakey function, first select the video you want to make transparent. Open the Space Editor’s media library, where you can see your uploaded videos.
Move your mouse over the desired video. A small icon will appear with the option “Configure Chromakey.” Click on it to open the Chromakey menu, where you can activate the function.
Activate Chromakey and Adjust Settings
Activate Chromakey
In the menu, you can toggle the Chromakey function on or off.
Select Color
Select the color you want to make transparent—typically green (greenscreen) or blue (bluescreen), depending on your video's background. Enter the exact HEX code of the background color for the best result.
Adjust Threshold
Use the "Threshold" slider to control how precisely the color is detected. A higher value makes more color shades transparent. Adjust the threshold step by step to achieve the best outcome.
Save
Once you click "Save," the chosen background will now appear transparent in the video. You can place the video in your space, and it will seamlessly integrate into your virtual environment.
Tips for Insufficient Contrast of the Greenscreen
A greenscreen with insufficient contrast and an unclear "green" can cause difficulties in chromakeying.
To optimize the greenscreen for chromakeying in the space, the following procedure can be helpful:
- Apply Color Correction:
Using color corrections can make the greenscreen color more intense and uniform, resulting in a clearer green. - Minimize Shadows:
Reducing dark areas in the green channel can minimize shadows on the greenscreen, thereby improving the overall quality.
After these adjustments, the greenscreen is typically optimized and ready for use in the space.
