With the Space Upload feature, you can upload your own 3D models as spaces, scale them, and use them for virtual experiences.
Uploading a 3D Space – Here's how
The Space Upload feature allows you to upload your own 3D environments and use them in rooom. Please note that only .gltf/.glb files are supported and the maximum file size is 100 MB.
- Go to the Dashboard and open the Spaces section.
- Click on Add Space and then Upload in the upper right corner.
- Now give your space a name, select a .gltf/.glb file for upload, and click Upload.
- Wait for the upload to complete. The system will process your model and display the detected dimensions of your space. If necessary, you can scale the space directly.
- Click Confirm.
Scaling a Space after Upload
You can also adjust the size of your space afterward to ensure correct display.
- Open the uploaded space in the Space Editor.
- Open the space properties and use the scaling options on the right side to adjust the scale.
- The changes will be applied immediately.
Important Notes on Space Upload
- Only gltf/.glb files can be uploaded.
- The maximum file size is 100 MB.
- To ensure realistic proportions, the scaling in your 3D software should already be correct before export. The recommended scale is 1 unit = 1 meter.
- Avoid unnecessary polygons to optimize loading times.
With these steps, you can easily upload and customize your own 3D spaces in rooom.
