rooomEvents offers you professional streaming solutions. In this article you will learn more about the integrated streaming.
Content:
Basically, there are multiple streaming options with rooomEvents, for example in combination with video platforms like Vimeo or YouTube. Customized solutions are also possible. If you are unsure how to best implement streaming at your event, just reach out to us directly. Our experts will be happy to help you!
If you have already decided on a specific solution, you only need to link your stream to the rooomEvents backend. Before doing so, however, you should decide whether you
a) want to show one or more continuous streams on the stages, or whether you
b) want to provide a single player for each program item.
Tip: We recommend option a) during the live broadcast and link a stream to the stage(s). After the live event, you can subsequently add on-demand video players for each program item.
And this is how it works:
a) Link stream to stage(s)
1. First you need an HTML5 embed code for the player (iFrame) from the streaming service you are using.
2. In the rooomEvents backend, go to Program -> Stages.
3. Select a stage or create a new stage.
4. Paste the iFrame in the Embedded video code field. (Attention: The code should not contain any <div> tags!)
5. If your event is multilingual, you can use the Language Switcher to set a separate embed code for each language (optional).
6. Click on Save.
7. Then you can assign the video mode to every program item on the agenda. To do this, edit the according program item (under Program -> Program item) and select the option Use video code stored on stage. Alternatively, the program can also run directly via the link to the stage(s) - e.g. on the home page.
b) Embed on-demand video player
1. First you need an HTML5 embed code for the player (iFrame) from the streaming service you are using.
2. In the rooomEvents backend, go to Program -> Program items.
3. Select a program item or create a new program item.
4. Scroll down to the Video Mode field.
5. Select the option Use stored video code.
6. Paste the iFrame in the Embedded video code field. (Attention: The code should not contain any <div> tags!)
7. If your event is multilingual, you can use the Language Switcher to set a separate embed code for each language (optional).
8. Click on Save.
Important tips
- Please note: If you make changes in the backend during the event, they will not be visible to the audience until the browser window refreshes.
- For a professional workflow and high-quality streams, we recommend working with a partner for streaming services and (post-)production. We will be happy to advise you and develop an optimal streaming concept together with you.
- Streaming keys are available on request.
